New Posts Knockturn Alley Streets

Be careful; Knockturn Alley isn’t the best place to be getting lost, now. It’s dingy, dodgy, and visited frequently by witches and wizards who thrive in the Dark Arts. From the shops and the street vendors one can purchase, among other things, shrunken heads, poisonous candles, human-looking fingernails, and Flesh-Eating Slug Repellent. Along the streets, you see folk going about their business, skulking about the grungy shops, most of them with large hats and head-ties that veil their faces. You don’t want to be seen down in Knockturn Alley, lest people become wary of you being a devout follower of the Dark Arts. What with You-Know-Who’s downfall, the Dark Arts still remains a very touchy subject for most magic folk.

New Posts Borgin & Burke

Some way down Knockturn Alley at number 13B lies Borgin & Burke, the most notorious of the alley’s shops, which specializes in objects with unusual and powerful properties, and particularly items that are ancient and rare. The shop is quite large, dusty, and dimly lit, with a large stone fireplace, and is known to be visited often by families who dabble in the dark arts. Its proprietors, Mr. Borgin and Caractacus Burke, are smooth talkers who know how to get what they want, often buying magical objects for much less than they are worth, and sell them for far more.

New Posts Murky Milden's Dark Shop

This secluded shop is a very small in comparison to Borgin & Burkes at the other end of the street, and is not quite as popular. Like its competitor, however, it is also a shop that thrives in selling items of the dark arts, and will lure in customers by offering deals on hard-to-find magical objects with strange properties and even stranger powers. This store also sells flesh-eating slug repellent, and thus is visited frequently by the gamekeeper at Hogwarts, who always likes to keep some handy. It does not appear inviting, but for whatever reason, wizards and witches venture inside anyway.
